We recently had the opportunity to work alongside Housemaster and Vision Power in Halls Creek, Western Australia, on a major project that involved planning and installing air conditioning systems for new housing developments in the area. This collaboration was a rewarding experience, and we’re excited to share the details of how we successfully brought cool, comfortable living to this remote part of WA.
The project involved planning and installing air conditioning units for some newly built homes in Halls Creek as part of the new Yura Yungi medical centre development. Our task was to ensure that each home had efficient, effective, and durable aircon systems that would provide long-term comfort for residents, while keeping energy consumption as low as possible.
Step 1: Understanding the Site and Requirements
Before any installation began, we worked closely with Vision Power to understand the specific needs of the housing project. This included assessing each home's layout, size, and the number of rooms that required cooling. Additionally, we took into account factors such as the orientation of the buildings, local climate conditions, and potential energy needs.
With this in mind, we worked with Vision Power’s electrical team to ensure that the air conditioning systems were compatible with the existing power infrastructure in the area, while also meeting the local regulations and energy-efficiency standards.
Step 2: Choosing the Right Air Conditioning System
For this project, we recommended 8 split system air conditioning units and 1 ceiling cassette to be installed between the two houses. We chose to install Mitsubishi Electric aircons due to the quality, reliability and exceptional support they offer. Theses aircons are ideal for residential properties, as they provide efficient cooling and are relatively easy to install and maintain. Additionally, they operate quietly, which is an important consideration for creating a peaceful living environment.
Given the hot climate, we also made sure to choose energy-efficient models designed to cope with high outdoor temperatures without excessive energy consumption. These units are equipped with inverter technology, which allows the system to adjust its cooling output based on demand, reducing power usage when possible and ensuring consistent cooling.
Step 3: Installation
The installation process began with careful planning to ensure that the air conditioning units would be placed in optimal positions within each home. We focused on maximizing airflow and ensuring each room received adequate cooling. Working alongside Vision Power’s team, we coordinated the necessary electrical work to ensure the power requirements for the air conditioners were met without overloading the system.
We then installed the indoor and outdoor units, making sure the systems were fully integrated and running efficiently. Our team ensured all units were securely mounted, the copper pipes were properly sealed, and the systems were tested to ensure everything was working as expected.
Step 4: Testing and Fine-Tuning
Once all the units were installed, we tested each system to confirm that it was performing at peak efficiency. We ran several tests to ensure the cooling was evenly distributed throughout each home, the temperature controls were accurate, and the aircon systems were operating quietly and effectively. Any necessary fine-tuning was carried out to ensure each system would perform optimally for years to come.
By choosing high-efficiency systems and ensuring the proper installation, we’ve helped future-proof these homes, giving the residents peace of mind knowing they’ll have reliable cooling when they need it most—especially during the hottest months of the year.
